You Don't Have Goals. You Have Wishes.
You’re not getting what you want.
And here’s why. You don’t have goals. You have wishes.
There’s a difference. A big one.
A wish is something you want to happen. A goal is something you work to make happen.
Most people don’t know they’re wishing. They think wanting something is enough. They think if they want it badly enough, it’ll show up on its own. Somewhere deep down, they believe it’ll happen automatically. Without effort. Without a plan.
It won’t.
You wish for a great physique. You wish for money in the bank. You wish for a beautiful girlfriend. And years pass. Nothing changes.
Why? Because a wish asks nothing of you. It just sits there. It feels good to have. But it produces nothing.
A goal is different. A goal has a number. A deadline. A plan.
Not “I want a great body.” That’s a wish.
“I want this physique in 10 months.” That’s a goal. Now you need a diet plan. A workout plan. A daily routine. Now you’re doing something every single day that produces results. You’re not wishing anymore. You’re building.
Let me tell you about my own life.
I wanted to quit smoking for years. Years. And what did I do? Nothing. Maybe the bare minimum. I kept telling myself I should quit. I kept wishing it would happen. It never did.
Then one day I stopped wishing and set a goal. Quit for 10 days. Then 21 days. Then 31. And so on.
Everything changed. Because now I had a number in my mind. Something to hit. Something to protect. When the craving came, I wasn’t fighting some vague idea of “quitting someday.” I was fighting for day 10. Day 21. I strived. Because I had something real to achieve.
That’s the whole secret. Wishes don’t move you. Goals do.
When you want something, you do nothing. When you have a goal, you strive.
So look at everything you want right now. The body. The money. The life. Ask yourself honestly — is it a goal or a wish?
If it doesn’t have a number, a deadline, and a plan, it’s a wish. And wishes don’t come true.
Turn every wish into a goal. Then get to work.
Stop wishing. Start striving.
